Artwork: Alice in Wonderland

Hello, my friends (or acquaintances...or enemies who are stalking me in hopes of finding my weaknesses! Gasp)! Okay, today is going to be a really really really long post that I need to do because I am not going to update for a couple of weeks (personal and ethical reasons; sadly, this blog cannot be the only thing in my life). So, I'm going to leave you with a couple things. A link to my Figment account, which I will be updating (Figment is basically a writing/reading site on which you can read all of my stories of my life and the made-up people in my head; not that you don't do that on a regular basis, a.k.a this blog).  A poem, that I wrote personally; it's not specifically for you guys. Actually, it's Alice in Wonderland based. My favorite quote from Alice. And, a special Alice in Wonderland photo shoot of my clay for you guys! Yay! But that's my last posting for around three more weeks. I might publish some pre-written stuff, but nothing really new. Sorry! I don't have enough time. Honestly, right now, I feel like I'm going away on a very long trip and I'm saying goodbye to my very best friends. Which is kind of sad and pathetic, viewing my readers as my best friends. Not that I'm saying you guys aren't good friends of mine, it's just...oh well. I'm rambling at this point. Goodbyes are meant to be short and sweet. Sadly, while I sit here in my well-lit room, I can feel the tears coming to my eyes as I say goodbye. It's just three weeks, I say to my computer. Just two weeks. I'll be back in time for Christmas. Oh well. Those of you who go to my school are probably going to tease me endlessly about this. And just because I'm sentimental doesn't mean I'm an oatmeal. I've always actually thought of oatmeal as devoid of emotion, because it's so bland-looking and beige-ish. It has absolutely no creative expression. Which makes me wonder why I, an artist full of creativity, eats oatmeal. Or is called an oatmeal. Wait. If you called me an oatmeal, where you saying that I'm a bad artist? Thanks a lot, you guys. Thanks. A. Lot. Anyway, for the very last time, GOODBYE.

My very special copy of Alice in Wonderland

Wonderland: A Poem
A land of many oddities
Disproportional commodities
The smile of a cat's ruse
A wonderland's psychedelic hues

The lands of many dreams
The land of cruel queens
Lost and lonely in the wonderlands
Executions she demands

One goes from tiny to tall
The most enormous of them all
Trying to get the white rabbit to stay
Will you ever get back home okay?

Beaming bright, the giant smile
His face here, his tail a mile
Confusing signs at every turn
The flash of Cheshire's bright fur

The Tulgey Wood scary and dark
Nothing sings not even a lark
The Jabberwocky with eyes aflame
How can this one be tame

Back in the court with the heart queen
Grow to full size causing a scene
Cutting up cards left and right
And then you're back home in the light.

“Oh, my! There's tea in the mousepot!” ~Cheshire Cat, upon finding that the mouse has escaped his grasp.
My very own Cheshire Cat.
The 'very small cake'. It's not marked "Eat Me."
The Rabbit...it's not white though...
The oysters of The Walrus and the Carpenter.
Alice's dog that frightens the Dormouse.

Artwork: Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my god! Thank you guys so much! I just got a thousand pageviews! You guys rock! Normally for a momental moment, I would upload something special...but it's Thanksgiving anyway. So, THANK YOU! Anyway, I had a really busy day on Saturday, and I figure that I can try to explain it to you. I had a sleepover with one of my best friends on Friday, because we went to see the BHS edition of You Can't Take It With You (just saying; it was super good, and all the actors were extremely good). So she left at around 10:00 in the morning, and then I went to go see the bed racing. I liked MSMT bed the best, because it was really cool, but I also liked the Thorton Oaks retirement home. They almost won, except their bed kept getting out of control. Pretty awesome, in an old people way. So then, I went to this craft fair where I met this super cool awesome lady (who lives just down the road from me – SO COOL!) who does porcelain sculptures. They're really awesome (her website is here). So after that, I went to volunteer at the library for a while, and after that, I went to the Bowdoin vs. Middlebury game at the Sidney J. Watson Arena. It was good, except that it was a tie, and so Donny said it was boring. I thought it was a great game. I really liked it (Yes, I lied. THAT was the last sports review). Anyway, today I figured I would update the cross-country picture, since the last one had such an awful quality (Drawing: I<3 XC is here). But in honor of Thanksgiving, I had a clay sculpture that I made. It's just food; but it's good food. Here it is! Thanks for being awesome.

Artwork: I Love XC

So, this is a reblog, because in the last one, the title didn't take, and so I deleted that one. I am super sad about cross-country ending, and so I made a drawing to commemorate. It's not much, just a little something that took me ages to finish. I'm just kidding, it didn't take me that long. But in order to explain it, I have to say that everything is cartoon. Take nothing seriously. Alright, here it is.
Re-uploaded with great quality!

And for those of you who are wondering, yes, Jamie is holding a Rawgasm. And yes, Alex does have a heart that says Erzie. And Jason is just randomly wearing a hat because his hair is really hard to draw.

Review: Of Food, Dance, and Basketball

Hey everybody! Great to see you again! Okay, so...first things first. OMG, oh my gawd, I GOT TO SEE WEST SIDE STORY! That musical was sooo AWESOME! I give it....4.8/5 stars (because I can't stand Tony). Also, the costumes were super gorgeous. I just wanted to rip them of the actors' backs. (Along with a few inches of their flesh. ~Katniss Everdeen). The singing, the dancing – which, after they were done with any particular number, seriously looked as if they had just run a 5K – and the costumes. Did I mention the costumes? I did! But this happened on Saturday at Portland Ovations theatre (check it out here) and I'm still dying over it. Another thing I'm dying over is the lunch at Little Seoul – check it out if you're ever in Portland, Maine. Oh my dear lord, it was so spicily delicious and deliciously spicy. Ok, so I ordered the ramen, and that may not seem too bad at first bite. But dig a little deep and get the backdish on Korean ramen. It's not that wussified Japanese insta-ramen, oh no. This comes in a steaming metal bowl, with kale, with udon noodles, with some sort of Korean cajun powder! And let's not forget the half-cooked egg sitting on top, which, by the time I got up the courage to snap my noodles into the wholesome brew, was entirely cooked. From just SITTING IN THE BOWL! WTF! Of course, my seaweed salad helped lower the spice factor. And after that, I had chocolate-drizzled red bean mochi ice cream. Totally yum yum delish! But so anyhoo...leaving the delicious mochi, let's talk about the Sixers' game on Friday. I had a special correspondent, Donovan Shea, who got tickets to the whole court. He was even on TV. And yet, he had zero intel for me. Well, fine, not zero... he gave me this. No wait, he didn't give me this. He gave Facebook this.
"Intel"

TV shot of Donny! Yay!
First and last time Yannsbury Designs ever has a sports review.
Toodles, poodles.

Review: Cold Class

Hey, you awesome, wonderful people. It is so great of you to tolerate my ramblings for twice today, but I have a rant. For some of you who OBVIOUSLY hate swearing, I won’t use profanity (looking at you, Anonymous). Today we had History and our teacher (let’s call him Mr. Butthead) didn’t tell us we had a fire drill, and so I went out in my cotton shirt, in 40 degree weather. Talk about chilly.com/FREEZING! So I was out there with my unbearably cute, but unbearably cold shirt, freezing down to the very marrow of my bones, and called in a group huddle. I mean, we were chattering! What would you have done? So we got into a little group huddle, like students being penguins (which we were) and warmed up a little. And the ABBY girl (JK, love you Abby) wrapped me up in her cooozzzy warm coat and I was so warm.com/cozy J. And then we went inside. By the way, proof from a reliable source (aka NOT my mind) has shown that Nicki Minaj plays the bagpipes. Yes, she not only flys in starships, pounds alarms, and boom boom booms her super bass, but she plays a set of bagpipes. More to come. Also, I’m now in a relationship, thanks to yes on one. It’s with my friend Lily. We’re debating getting married (….well. THAT escalated quickly). See ya, my Yannsburites!

Review: Election 2012

Hey everybody! So, here in the US of A (for all you international readers, thank you) we had election day yesterday, and yours truly is now reporting that Barack Obama has won. Now, I'm not taking sides or anything, I've already had my moment in the sun, the glorious moment that could kill or ruin you, or that could make your day a whole lot sunnier. But so anyway....YES ON ONE! Gay marriage is legal. If I were gay, and if I were old enough to get married, then I'm sure it would be way more exciting. But even if you are all Mitt Romney supporters, I think we should all still be able to relate to the excitement of the passing of the Yes on One. I mean, it's pretty hawesome. So...yay! And then, just for within Maine (getting smaller and smaller as we go through the elections) we have Angus King! Yesss! So y'know, that's great and all. So I think that's all, I have to go now. But I will see you soon and miss you until the next post!

Review: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared

Hey you guys! I'm sure that you've all missed me very much, and that's great! I missed you too. You guys are my life source, and I love you so much! So anyway...I'm kind of sad right now, because stuff happens. Like when people need other people with skills and all that you can do is draw and run okay-ish, and so nobody wants you for their team, and you are sad and alone and feel friendless. Now, that's not my situation or anything, but you could imagine how one would feel if that happened to them. You know, life happens, shit happens, and you just have to go with the flow. So anyway, I have a special post-Halloween post for you guys that will make you guys feel better about Halloween being over. Sorry, no, it's NOT candy...I know you want it, but no. It's a Youtube video called Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared. And let's just say, this video is probably 10+. Or maybe more...I was freaked out by this, and I'm fourteen. It seems like a video for toddlers - WRONG. It's not. It's the freakiest thing that I have seen in a while. However, you can also interpret it as a plea for originality made by THIS IS IT productions. So, depending on how you look at it, this is either a reeeally weird video by someone who is mentally insane, or a tragically ironic video about childhood creativity being engulfed by the media. Think about it. There are clues there; the Hollywood set changing the course of the video from sweet to scary, the...you know, let's not get into detail. This video is already creepy enough. So, I must take my leave. I say to you, in the words of THIS IS IT: Let's never be creative again.
Sionara, sweeties!
