Artwork: Holidays

Hey you guys! Guess what? It's finally CHRISTMAS!!!! Yay, I'm so happy! It's a time for presents, and giving, and getting, and presents, and trees and food, and presents! Not that I'm so wrapped up in the physical gift-getting of Christmas that I can't enjoy the integral love-family-friends-neighbors-everybody people. What I don't get is HOW people can waste wonderful, Christmassy time at mass. Christmas is about giving. And by forcing your family to go to church, all you are doing is giving them a reason to cut your head off while you sleep. Hey, I'm just saying! It's annoying. I've done it.
Y'know, I just stopped writing, and then I came back, and I thought that the third sentence said CENTAURS! instead of CHRISTMAS!!! but I got over that pretty quickly. I don't know why I said that, and I'm debating deleting it, but I probably won't, because I have that much faith in myself. And in you guys, because I think that you won't tease me about it. Guess what? I got an awesome hat! It's awesome and purple and blue and silver. I'll wear it to the meet on Thursday (I dunno if you can run with hats, though).
I look so awful. Bleh. Love my hat, though. Why? Cuz it's the BEST hat!
And now, for our (late) holiday artwork. . . . (another drumroll please...)
Just kidding! It isn't really that great, because it only took me  10 minutes, but I got it done in time.
Bye, my precious readers! Live to read another day!

Review: Christmas Eve!

So, it's Christmas eve...right now, I'm sure little kids in Japan are waking up and unwrapping their presents (maybe not yet, but soon, I am sure). So, today, I don't have a lot of stuff for you (sorry!) but I will post some cute pictures of dogs and cats and pets and stuff.Today I made a cheese cake, went on a walk to a beautiful cove, ice-skated (without skates) and met a big, beautiful dog named Baily. He's a golden retriever, and he is giant!
Bailey's doppelganger.
Anyway...are you guys excited for Les Miserable? I can't wait to see it (squee!) but I don't know who I would go with. Because who goes to see movies by themself?

This is a CAT in Les Miserable, instead of a human.
Well, bye! I hope you guys get what you want for Christmas, and I will be posting in the morning tomorrow! Love you guys, and Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Review: The Night Before the Night Before Christmas

Well...it's a pretty non-descript night tonight. It's the night before Christmas Eve. A night to gobble down the Advent calender chocolates and bake cookies with your little brothers for Santa Claus. Let the nights begin. Even though they already have... Anyway...I really don't have too much to write about today. Oh, I do have one thing! I'm creating a concept character for a concept comic. Her name is (drum roll) ALEX YANNSBURY!!! Yes, I'm accepting a role as Alex. The original Alex... well, he can become Alsex. It's cool. I'm sure he'll be fine. Anyway, I'll be previewing the original concept idea in 2013! Another thing to wait for! I'm sorry, you'll be waiting for ages and ages. But anyway, I think we have a meet on the 27th, I can review that! I dunno. I think I'll end now. Ummmm...Bye.
If you want contact information, look at Artwork: River Nymph.

Artwork: River Nymph

So sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I put it on a schedule so that it would post at 4:52, and it didn't...BLEH. So today, I'll post twice. I don't really have anything to write about...instead, here's a sculpture that I did a couple weeks ago that I just haven't updated. I know this post isn't very interesting, but I'm kind of tired, and really bored, and just don't know what to write about. Christmas is all too soon...bleh, I can't wait. Presents! Yay! Which reminds me, I have to start wrapping my family's presents...ugh. More work....I'm so tired. But I promised you guys a post, and you will get a post. Why not? I'm going to post this and go take a nap. Then maybe study Spanish. Anyway...here's the artwork (it's pretty wonderful) (not really) (just kidding). But this is an ornamental thing, it serves no real purpose.
River Nymph....unfinished
Anway, sionara! Love you all! Bye....

Review: Track Meet

Augh! I  missed you guys so much! Like I said earlier, SEPARATION ANXIETY!!! You guys are the best for having to endure that. I'm so sorry, so to make up for it, I will be posting every day until Christmas! Yay for you guys, bad for my fingers! Stupid typing. Anyway, today's the twenty-first (the day the world will end) and I just got my braces off yesterday. I don't know how many of you have seen me since then, but my smile looks pretty fabulous! Excluding my retainer, which is bleh. I mean, you can't see it; it's clear, but it's really annoying when I JUST WANT TO HAVE A SNACK! I have to take it off, eat, brush my teeth, brush the retainer, rinse everything, and then...well, enough gory details. Also, Jason keeps poking at them to make sure they aren't dentures. I mean, what the fudge? Anyway, hooray for the world NOT ending! You know, when the world ended, I expected more flaming, flesh-eating acid monkeys falling from the sky. What I got? Two hours of a power outage and an apocalyptic 2 mile. By the way, track meet! First one of the season (I kind of sucked, but that's okay). I got a 26.12' in the triple jump, which is totally yay me! I think I could jump farther, if I tried. And then in the 2 mile, I got second .... to last. It's okay, though. I'm still just a silly freshman - plus I was only 30 seconds away from KVAC qualification! Squee! That's why I'm sooo glad the world didn't end! I have a chance to improve. But honestly, I never thought that the world would end; after all, the Aztec were waaay cooler than the Mayans, and therefore much better at, well, everything. Including making hot chocolate! And shoes. Anyway, welcome to the 21st century, 2013! Join the party, because this world is not going to end. At least, you can join the party in a around a week; we don't have room for you yet. And by then, I'll have your introductory drawing all inked and colored. Love you, 2013! It's great to see you! Love to all and to all a good night!

Review: Oatmeal?

Hey guys! This is going to be short...I don't have a lot of time.
So, I discovered this website...it's pretty interesting...and do you want to know what it's called?
The Oatmeal.com.
Seriously? Oatmeal?
Oatmeal can be creative, as it turns out.
I was wrong.
This is a pretty anti-productive site. I recommend it for those who want to have some fun in their free time. It's literally the best.
Sirachi Rooster Sauce!
From the flaming rooster gods.
Dogs and paradoxes
Cats vs. Homeless Men.

Bobcats: At work.
Visit: The Oatmeal. Your dreams will be completed.
Bye.

Artwork: Autumn Swirls

Yeah, I know that I would not post for two more weeks! I'm sorry, I could not stand the separation anxiety. But I did want to do something. This was inspired by that lady that I met you does the porcelain sculptures. It's called Autumn Swirls because it's swirly and it's the colors of autumn. So...yeah. That's pretty much it.
Inspiration

Also... INDOOR TRACK IS AWESOME! I really love it. Plus, watching Alex run is so crazy. He tilts at this insane angle when he sprints. It's like fireworks springing off the track behind him (I don't know! It seems like a good simile for how fast he runs). Anyway, Donovan - my sports correspondent, in case you forgot - is not doing track, he is doing basketball, the traitor. Let's see...Jack wore his bright pink Erzie socks...Junter wasn't at practice, which was extremely mean of him and saddened me. Anyway, I really like indoor track.
YAY INDOOR TRACK!

Artwork: Alice in Wonderland

Hello, my friends (or acquaintances...or enemies who are stalking me in hopes of finding my weaknesses! Gasp)! Okay, today is going to be a really really really long post that I need to do because I am not going to update for a couple of weeks (personal and ethical reasons; sadly, this blog cannot be the only thing in my life). So, I'm going to leave you with a couple things. A link to my Figment account, which I will be updating (Figment is basically a writing/reading site on which you can read all of my stories of my life and the made-up people in my head; not that you don't do that on a regular basis, a.k.a this blog).  A poem, that I wrote personally; it's not specifically for you guys. Actually, it's Alice in Wonderland based. My favorite quote from Alice. And, a special Alice in Wonderland photo shoot of my clay for you guys! Yay! But that's my last posting for around three more weeks. I might publish some pre-written stuff, but nothing really new. Sorry! I don't have enough time. Honestly, right now, I feel like I'm going away on a very long trip and I'm saying goodbye to my very best friends. Which is kind of sad and pathetic, viewing my readers as my best friends. Not that I'm saying you guys aren't good friends of mine, it's just...oh well. I'm rambling at this point. Goodbyes are meant to be short and sweet. Sadly, while I sit here in my well-lit room, I can feel the tears coming to my eyes as I say goodbye. It's just three weeks, I say to my computer. Just two weeks. I'll be back in time for Christmas. Oh well. Those of you who go to my school are probably going to tease me endlessly about this. And just because I'm sentimental doesn't mean I'm an oatmeal. I've always actually thought of oatmeal as devoid of emotion, because it's so bland-looking and beige-ish. It has absolutely no creative expression. Which makes me wonder why I, an artist full of creativity, eats oatmeal. Or is called an oatmeal. Wait. If you called me an oatmeal, where you saying that I'm a bad artist? Thanks a lot, you guys. Thanks. A. Lot. Anyway, for the very last time, GOODBYE.

My very special copy of Alice in Wonderland

Wonderland: A Poem
A land of many oddities
Disproportional commodities
The smile of a cat's ruse
A wonderland's psychedelic hues

The lands of many dreams
The land of cruel queens
Lost and lonely in the wonderlands
Executions she demands

One goes from tiny to tall
The most enormous of them all
Trying to get the white rabbit to stay
Will you ever get back home okay?

Beaming bright, the giant smile
His face here, his tail a mile
Confusing signs at every turn
The flash of Cheshire's bright fur

The Tulgey Wood scary and dark
Nothing sings not even a lark
The Jabberwocky with eyes aflame
How can this one be tame

Back in the court with the heart queen
Grow to full size causing a scene
Cutting up cards left and right
And then you're back home in the light.

Artwork: Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my god! Thank you guys so much! I just got a thousand pageviews! You guys rock! Normally for a momental moment, I would upload something special...but it's Thanksgiving anyway. So, THANK YOU! Anyway, I had a really busy day on Saturday, and I figure that I can try to explain it to you. I had a sleepover with one of my best friends on Friday, because we went to see the BHS edition of You Can't Take It With You (just saying; it was super good, and all the actors were extremely good). So she left at around 10:00 in the morning, and then I went to go see the bed racing. I liked MSMT bed the best, because it was really cool, but I also liked the Thorton Oaks retirement home. They almost won, except their bed kept getting out of control. Pretty awesome, in an old people way. So then, I went to this craft fair where I met this super cool awesome lady (who lives just down the road from me – SO COOL!) who does porcelain sculptures. They're really awesome (her website is here). So after that, I went to volunteer at the library for a while, and after that, I went to the Bowdoin vs. Middlebury game at the Sidney J. Watson Arena. It was good, except that it was a tie, and so Donny said it was boring. I thought it was a great game. I really liked it (Yes, I lied. THAT was the last sports review). Anyway, today I figured I would update the cross-country picture, since the last one had such an awful quality (Drawing: I<3 XC is here). But in honor of Thanksgiving, I had a clay sculpture that I made. It's just food; but it's good food. Here it is! Thanks for being awesome.

Artwork: I Love XC

So, this is a reblog, because in the last one, the title didn't take, and so I deleted that one. I am super sad about cross-country ending, and so I made a drawing to commemorate. It's not much, just a little something that took me ages to finish. I'm just kidding, it didn't take me that long. But in order to explain it, I have to say that everything is cartoon. Take nothing seriously. Alright, here it is.
Re-uploaded with great quality!

And for those of you who are wondering, yes, Jamie is holding a Rawgasm. And yes, Alex does have a heart that says Erzie. And Jason is just randomly wearing a hat because his hair is really hard to draw.

Review: Of Food, Dance, and Basketball

Hey everybody! Great to see you again! Okay, so...first things first. OMG, oh my gawd, I GOT TO SEE WEST SIDE STORY! That musical was sooo AWESOME! I give it....4.8/5 stars (because I can't stand Tony). Also, the costumes were super gorgeous. I just wanted to rip them of the actors' backs. (Along with a few inches of their flesh. ~Katniss Everdeen). The singing, the dancing – which, after they were done with any particular number, seriously looked as if they had just run a 5K – and the costumes. Did I mention the costumes? I did! But this happened on Saturday at Portland Ovations theatre (check it out here) and I'm still dying over it. Another thing I'm dying over is the lunch at Little Seoul – check it out if you're ever in Portland, Maine. Oh my dear lord, it was so spicily delicious and deliciously spicy. Ok, so I ordered the ramen, and that may not seem too bad at first bite. But dig a little deep and get the backdish on Korean ramen. It's not that wussified Japanese insta-ramen, oh no. This comes in a steaming metal bowl, with kale, with udon noodles, with some sort of Korean cajun powder! And let's not forget the half-cooked egg sitting on top, which, by the time I got up the courage to snap my noodles into the wholesome brew, was entirely cooked. From just SITTING IN THE BOWL! WTF! Of course, my seaweed salad helped lower the spice factor. And after that, I had chocolate-drizzled red bean mochi ice cream. Totally yum yum delish! But so anyhoo...leaving the delicious mochi, let's talk about the Sixers' game on Friday. I had a special correspondent, Donovan Shea, who got tickets to the whole court. He was even on TV. And yet, he had zero intel for me. Well, fine, not zero... he gave me this. No wait, he didn't give me this. He gave Facebook this.
"Intel"

TV shot of Donny! Yay!
First and last time Yannsbury Designs ever has a sports review.

Review: Cold Class

Hey, you awesome, wonderful people. It is so great of you to tolerate my ramblings for twice today, but I have a rant. For some of you who OBVIOUSLY hate swearing, I won’t use profanity (looking at you, Anonymous). Today we had History and our teacher (let’s call him Mr. Butthead) didn’t tell us we had a fire drill, and so I went out in my cotton shirt, in 40 degree weather. Talk about chilly.com/FREEZING! So I was out there with my unbearably cute, but unbearably cold shirt, freezing down to the very marrow of my bones, and called in a group huddle. I mean, we were chattering! What would you have done? So we got into a little group huddle, like students being penguins (which we were) and warmed up a little. And the ABBY girl (JK, love you Abby) wrapped me up in her cooozzzy warm coat and I was so warm.com/cozy J. And then we went inside. By the way, proof from a reliable source (aka NOT my mind) has shown that Nicki Minaj plays the bagpipes. Yes, she not only flys in starships, pounds alarms, and boom boom booms her super bass, but she plays a set of bagpipes. More to come. Also, I’m now in a relationship, thanks to yes on one. It’s with my friend Lily. We’re debating getting married (….well. THAT escalated quickly). See ya, my Yannsburites!

Review: Election 2012

Hey everybody! So, here in the US of A (for all you international readers, thank you) we had election day yesterday, and yours truly is now reporting that Barack Obama has won. Now, I'm not taking sides or anything, I've already had my moment in the sun, the glorious moment that could kill or ruin you, or that could make your day a whole lot sunnier. But so anyway....YES ON ONE! Gay marriage is legal. If I were gay, and if I were old enough to get married, then I'm sure it would be way more exciting. But even if you are all Mitt Romney supporters, I think we should all still be able to relate to the excitement of the passing of the Yes on One. I mean, it's pretty hawesome. So...yay! And then, just for within Maine (getting smaller and smaller as we go through the elections) we have Angus King! Yesss! So y'know, that's great and all. So I think that's all, I have to go now. But I will see you soon and miss you until the next post!

Review: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared

Hey you guys! I'm sure that you've all missed me very much, and that's great! I missed you too. You guys are my life source, and I love you so much! So anyway...I'm kind of sad right now, because stuff happens. Like when people need other people with skills and all that you can do is draw and run okay-ish, and so nobody wants you for their team, and you are sad and alone and feel friendless. Now, that's not my situation or anything, but you could imagine how one would feel if that happened to them. You know, life happens, shit happens, and you just have to go with the flow. So anyway, I have a special post-Halloween post for you guys that will make you guys feel better about Halloween being over. Sorry, no, it's NOT candy...I know you want it, but no. It's a Youtube video called Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared. And let's just say, this video is probably 10+. Or maybe more...I was freaked out by this, and I'm fourteen. It seems like a video for toddlers - WRONG. It's not. It's the freakiest thing that I have seen in a while. However, you can also interpret it as a plea for originality made by THIS IS IT productions. So, depending on how you look at it, this is either a reeeally weird video by someone who is mentally insane, or a tragically ironic video about childhood creativity being engulfed by the media. Think about it. There are clues there; the Hollywood set changing the course of the video from sweet to scary, the...you know, let's not get into detail. This video is already creepy enough. So, I must take my leave. I say to you, in the words of THIS IS IT: Let's never be creative again.
Sionara, sweeties!

Artwork: Happy Halloween

Hey you guys! So, it's Yannsbury's first annual Halloween, and I've got a picture for you! It's another doodle, and I hope that you'll love it. At least the more morbid among you will. If you look closely, you will see:
A dead Pacman
Two Pacman ghosts
A skeletal dinosaur
A crying platypus/lady
A musical ghost
A cinnamon roll
And a very, very sad blobfish.
Plus, almost half the things in the picture are set on fire, or are blood-stained. Kinda creepy. Anyway, this year, my costume is Minnie Mouse! Yay! And also, Life (a.k.a my friend Brooke) gave me a lemon. I drew a jack-o-lantern on it. But anyway, here's the Happy Halloween drawing.
The quality is slightly crappy, but what can you do.
So anyway, here's a list of future blog posts:
Drawing: I <3 Cross-Country
Review: Erzie and Alex
Drawing: Breaking Dawn (in commemoration of Breaking Dawn Part 2)
Review: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared
Inspirations: Weirdest Dream Ever
Prized: Yoda Pen
See you all in a couple of days!

Review: States

So, hey guys! Just to warn you, this is going to be a looong one. So, it's the 27th, and I just got back from States. It was crazy, because the sun was shining. In Belfast! So it was awesome weather, but it was really hot. Tessa is (probably) going to New Englands! YAY! But so afterward, we went to the soccer game, Dragons vs. Eagles. We lost (I think it was 4 to 1). Brooke taught me how to do some cheerleading lifts. But anyway, I said that I would either draw or scan pictures of myself in costumes for Halloween. You guys have not responded to my plea yet. Unless you count calling me “an oatmeal”. Which I don't. Also, I feel extremely bad for Erzy, so I hope she never reads this blog. If she does, sorry Erzy! It's not my fault. Anyway, if you all don't respond by the time Halloween rolls around (four days from now) I'm going with the Halloween drawing. So respond quickly or not at all. Either one is cool. Just please don't call me an oatmeal. I would also like to commemorate Jack Murphy for exquisite Wii Golf. It was so incredible that it would have brought tears to my eyes. Not really; but I will commemorate him anyway. I would also like to show you guys a new section for the posts; 'Prized', which will be all of my most prized possessions. We are going to begin that with my newest prized possession: the Yoda pen. I won it in math class because I answered a question first or whatever. I might include a picture in the next post if you guys are nice to me. So leaving that, you know where to contact me. At our Facebook page (like for good karma) here, or at our Twitter (follow us for good karma) here, or, if you so choose, email me at yannsburydesigns@gmail.com. Bye! You know I love you guys, even if sometimes you annoy me like hell.

Review: JV Championships

Hey everybody! So, JV Championships were yesterday....I got a personal record with 24:52!!!! YEAH!!! Alternate for States, yes.... SO HAPPY! Did I mention how happy I am? SoOOOOoOOoOoOO Happy! But anywho, I decided to go out of my way to prove to all of you that it's not just cheerleaders who are fashionable; running is where the real clothes are at. And in case you are wondering, no, I'm not going back to the fashion scene. These "Spandits?" (http://www.spandits.com/) were just too hard to turn down. So, for you...peacock leggings.
From Mt. Blue XC...We bring you...

Also, remember my internal debate! Halloween outfits, or Happy Halloween doodle? It's up to you. No more inappropriate comments please! (I'm looking at you, BXC boys). I will be delaying some posts to make room for others, and because they are still under construction; mainly, The Weirdest Dream Ever. I will also be trying to post more often, under request from others. So thanks guys! Keep commenting!

Review: Gangnam Style

Hey you guys! So....have you seen Gangnam Style? Pretty awesome huh? It's a little...uh...actually, I'm not sure what to say. Kpop is an interesting genre, to say the least. I will include the link down below, but for now, let's just talk. Pretty crazy vid, huh? From fake snow to shirtless tatooed guys, it's definitely the most culture-influential music video of the century. And Psy must really be psyched; he has become a god in pop music industry. Haha, that was a pun. Did you get that? It was a pun...I'm punny...I'm just a bad person, can't you tell? Anyway, since this blog is open to such a wide audience of strange people (you know who you are) I'm just going to put up the link and leave. Except, I must say one thing: The sister video, ft. Hyuna, sucks. Hyuna, I'm sorry, but you are not a good singer! That was like nails on a chalkboard. I mean, yeah, girl power and all that, but sweetheart, perhaps the music industry is not for you. The only good part of the music video was when Psy was singing. So, here is the video (Gangnam Style) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0. And here is Hyuna (Oppa It's My Style): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcLNteez3c4 (ugh...I feel bad for your ears). You guys are great! Artwork: Olivia/Anna

Hello my Yannsburyites! So, some of you, especially those that I recently told about this blog (they know who they are) may have heard of the book Anna Dressed in Blood and its sequel, Girl of Nightmares. Now those are some pretty creepy/intense books, and the link to their website is here (http://kendareblake.com/anna-dressed-in-blood.php). They are really good books and I encourage anyone over the age of thirteen to read them. They are kind of creepy but they were the inspiration for my drawing. Anyway, I am finally releasing my drawing of a character (yay!!!)! Her name is Olivia Myers and she is a vampire. Her biography is below, but I just want to say that her original name was Anna Korlov as a tribute to Kendare Blake's amazingness. Then it was Cabria Korlov, and then Cabria Myers, and then Olivia Myers. So here is Olivia Myers in all her vampire incredibleness. She looks like me by the way (a total accident, I didn't even realize that it happened) so if you think she's beautiful, then thank you! I appreciate the compliment. There is also a bonus in the post... it's a special add-on to Olivia; her costume party mask. Here she is, along with her biography.
Olivia Myers. Vampire. Artist. Survivor of the Titanic. On April 14th, 1912, she turned 19, boarding the Titanic with her adoptive family. Unfortunately, she was bitten, by her adoptive sister Rosalie shortly after boarding and turned into a vampire. She used the next 90 years to develop small family of vampires, and fell in love with a human named Fellyx. Unfortunately, Fellyx died of unexpected blood loss from a snake bite within two years of their marriage. Olivia is an avid artist and an expert at playing the electric guitar. She enjoys disproving scientific theories and discovering advanced mathematical formulas and theorems  Her favorite food is snow leopard blood, and her favorite color is red. Her only regret is that she can never legally drink alcohol.
BONUS!!! Costume Party Mask (Color)

Okay, so now that you've read that, I have a couple things to tell you. Okay, since none of you like me (sadness) and you don't bother commenting on anything, I am going to tell you some stuff. First of all, having a schedule is obviously not working out for me, so posts are going to be totally random (all the more reason to check regularly)! Also, I have a lot of ideas for posts, so some stuff that you can expect in the coming weeks are:
Gangnam Style Review
Weirdest Dream Ever
Modcloth Review
Fancy Review
Fancy Inspirations
'Kay, that is all for now. Like this post and follow my blog on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yannsbury-Designs/449025388454346

Update: Randomness I

Hey everybody! It’s Cleo, as always, and today I am coming from the school library, just for fun. Now, this is going to be really short, because it is 2:45 and I have to leave the library at 3:30, so for something to do, I am writing to you. Just for kicks. So anyway, today was totally awesome because I had a huge English exam and failed it.  So awesome, right? That was sarcasm, by the way, if you couldn’t tell over the Internet. But yeah, I am pretty sure that I failed. But that’s okay, because I was talking to my teacher (thank you Mr. Dwyer), and he said that it wasn’t worth that much of our grade. Yay! That makes me so happy, in case you can’t tell. Anyway, you guys come here to here art related stuff, so that is what I am going to give you. Did you like the doodle from Saturday? Pretty insane right? Did you like the giant mother Mohawk eagle? And the exactly 32 cats that are in all of my drawings? That will be going out on my Etsy store, hopefully in December, fingers crossed. It’s doubtable, depending on whether or not my parents will be cool and let me actually put stuff on my store. But if they don’t, I’m sure I can get it out by at least February of 2013 (haters be hating, the world is still going to be here). Until then, you can follow me on Fancy (www.fancy.com) at rtist4life (Fancy being a better version of Pintrest, or at least I think so). And no, that’s not my ‘follow-on-Twitter-Facebook-Google+’ garbage, which can be found below. It’s just a suggestion, because I really like the stuff on Fancy. Even if you don’t want to follow me, it’s okay, because I will be posting pictures of my favorite things on this blog! Not now, but soon. Because Fancy is super awesome. And just so you know the cool things that will be coming up in the future….This Saturday will either be: my updated face photo thing OR a review of Gangnam Style (Oppa Gangnam Style!) and the comparison to its sister video featuring Hyuna. If you want to, comment down below to help me decide. I say this keeping in mind the fact that you all seem to be very uncooperative and seem to dislike supporting me in my endeavor to expand my blog. Thanks a lot, everybody. Anyway, have a good day, it is now 3:25 so I have to turn of the computer. Remember, it’s good karma to click the below links! Sionara, my friends and enemies. Have a great rest of your lives up until my next posting (on Saturday).

Artwork: Doodle Run

Hey, what's up everybody? So, I promised you guys a pretty crazy drawing, and that sparked an idea, which sparked an even bigger idea, which ended up with me a successful artist. Anyway, remember how I said that I was going to post a totally awesome doodle? Well, I think you'll agree that it is pretty awesome, but it is a bit pixelated. Do you what to know why? It was taken from my cell phone. Do you want to know why? Because I am going to, in a little bit, start my own store on Etsy! Yay! (crowd applause goes here). It's going to have clay jewelry, and figurines, and a bunch of cool stuff - including posters of my artwork! It's going to be awesome. Anyway, as soon as I get some down time (hopefully soon) I will be getting started doing that stuff. And hopefully, I want to get started on a book that I will be putting out sometime in the far away future. But anyway, that's all far, far away. Like, way far away. So yeah...I probably shouldn't even be talking about this yet. Oh well. It's okay. I think so anyway... So here is my doodle drawing thing. So...yeah. Here it is. Oh, but first!!! I forgot, yesterday I got a 27: something in my 5K. Brooke and I tied exactly, which was pretty cool. But here is the drawing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYXjLbMZFmo (For stimulating experience, click here)
Oh right, and I forgot! You are probably eagerly awaiting my finished drawing of the face. Sorry! I will post it next time, along with a summary of her. It's pretty strange, and looks exactly like me. Also, I want to know what I should do for Halloween. Post a picture of me in past Halloween costumes, or post another of these and a song. Comment in the box below, or write on the Yannsbury Designs wall.

Review: Art Class

What's up, you guys? So sorry that I did not post on Saturday, but I had an all-day cross-country meet (it was awesome). I got 425th out of 607 people, which is pretty good for me. I'm still improving. Don't laugh at me; running hurts. But my team is awesome, and they are super cool. But this will not be a long post - rather, it will be quite short. But ok, so I have Art Class tomorrow, which normally I would be happy about but we aren't doing art....we're writing. SAVE THE WRITING FOR ENGLISH! That's what I say about my wonderful, wonderful art class. Anyway, I did this...incredible doodle. For some of the things that are in it:

  • Fat vampire ghost singer
  • Giant mother eagle with rainbow mohawk
  • Sleeping rhinoceros with living dreams
  • Flying fish on fire
  • Mohawked beak-nosed man
  • A large amount of cats
That is what I will be posting next time. So for now, have a good rest of your life up until my next post!!!! Love you all!

Art Blog

Hey guys! Happy autumn! Or fall...whatever So, recently I found out that a much larger group of people were viewing my blog (they know who they are) than I believed, and as I believe in being equal to everybody,  I am ... expanding ... my blog. It will now be an art website, not just a fashion design website, because I like art. Art is cool. Anyway, school is busier than usually, so until further notice, I will be posting on Saturdays and whenever I don't have homework. Which will not be often. Um.....let's see. I'm not exactly sure what to say at this point, so I'll tell you a little about the girl behind Yannsbury. Which, like, over half of you already know me, but whatever. I am learning guitar, and at the moment I learning how to play Wagon Wheel (I'm working my way up to American Pie or Eleanor Rigby).Yesterday I set my personal record for the 5K. It was 25:5-something...I'm not sure; I was dying. For classes in the new land of high school...they are so much harder than middle school -_- which is pretty obvious. I have the most fun in art class because I sit next to a super cool, awesomely funny person whose name shall not be mentioned. We are drawing faces and right now I've been doodling a lot of faces. Like, a lot. I have at least ten faces and I started yesterday morning. It's crazy. My doodling streak begins! But anyway...I did this major doodling thing the other day and it is insane like you wouldn't believe. I love it. I LOVE art. As my pictures would imply....
It's a little dark. And bald...
It's better in this picture. This is of my workstation...my drawing is on the left. It has ears now :)
Still no hair...awkward.
Art class is pretty inspiring, thanks to my art buddy, and my art teacher who likes to call attention to people's facial features (Ms. Price). Well, thanks for reading; have fun in fall!

Inspirations: Corkboard

This is a cork board. Yes, you read right; my second-best inspiration is a cork board. It is so perfect for almost everything I could ever imagine. I have pretty much everything that inspires me: my magazine clipping of stairs in a forest. There is a vampire playing card, a Prince of Cats calling card, and a postcard with a fat walrus on it. These things all make me happy, make me think that I can accomplish something, and that is why they reside upon the cork board. I have good memories up there as well. There is my ticket stub from the Hunger Games, my invite to my friend's Bat Mitzvah, and the horse ornament I got when I was little. I have fun, ornamental objects too; the keychain with the pink bear, the painted flame flower I got for my birthday. There is a fabric applique of a cartoon cat, and a Dove chocolate wrapper that says 'Discover yourself.' I did discover myself, Dove. I tried, and I did. I took what I had, and I then archaeoligised the crap out of it, and I made something beautiful: me. Relatively smart, kind of nice, slightly mature me. And the corkboard is my representation of all the stuff I took out on the way. Also, about Project Runway on Friday... I loved Melissa Fleis' dress, though that isn't the way I would have designed it. Christopher's dress deserved to be on the bottom; the print was beautiful, but covering it up with the sheer black was lame and pathetic. Dmitri deserved to win. His cutouts actually looked like they were floating over the dress. It was really cool. I wish that Ven had been out, not Gunnar. Ven's dress was like, yeah, you can make a fan, that's super cool, oh yeah, you can make designs with the fabric, what a surprise; but it was nothing new, nothing off-the-wall. That's what the challenges should be about; surprising people, making them think about your fashion. Anyway, that's all for today, I have to finish my homework. Sionara!!

Inspirations: Portland

Wow! Ok, I am so tired today, because I stayed up all night watching Project Runway! No, but seriously, I just had a cross-country meet and I am so tired, but I am writing for you guys. And this will be a very long episode, because it is both an inspirations post and a review post for PR. But no, I am ready to go to bed right now and it astounds me that my relatives in Oregon are wide awake, and probably eating dinner right about now. Since I love Portland, Oregon so much, I wanted to make a 'tribute post' towards it, and give all my relatives over there a shout-out from me. They follow me so devoutly and I thank them for that. They live in Portland, which is literally the best place ever (besides New York, because that is the fashion central of the world)! I'm just going to list my five top favorite places in both of the Portlands (Oregon and Maine) because I love all cities named Portland equally (because I have lived near both of them). Now, I'm not saying that you have to visit these places, I'm just saying it's a good idea if you are ever in town. These are listed in no particular order, as I think that these places are equally awesome. (Also, I did not include addresses, because that took too long and I am very lazy. You can look it up on Google maps).
In Portland, OR:
-Tilde
-Portland Museum of Art
-Jade Teahouse
-Voodoo Doughnuts
-Fuego (yeah it's a chain store, it's still awesome)

In Portland, ME:
-Sunny's Restaurant and Bar
-Sapporo Sushi
-Urban Outfitters (also a chain store, super awesome)
-Longfellow Books
-Two Fat Cats

I have not watched Project Runway yet, so I don't know about anything that happened! I'm super excited about watching it though.

Artwork: Power-Up

Hey everybody! So, today is my first design post (squee!). I am super excited, but I would really appreciate if you would just acknowledge a couple things. First of all, I want to say that it is not okay to use my picture without citing it or without my permission. Also, this template is not mine, though the design is; it is created by the Fashion Sketchpad (www.fashionsketchpad.com). Don't make fun of the name 'Power-Up'; I couldn't figure out a better name for it. And also, please keep in mind that the dress faded slightly when scanned; it is supposed to be completely black. Anyway, now that we are past that stuff, let me just say that yes, I left her hair white on purpose. She is an albino. She was born that way, so don't judge. She would not judge you (or would she?). Anyway, yes, I did include the power button (aah I'm so craaaazy) and the blue circuit-thingy that runs down her back is actually a zipper. The fabric (since it's supposed to be a sporty kind of thing) is going to be a modal-cotton mix or a polyester-cotton mix. Either way, it's going to be cotton-???? so I hope it will be really cool. And sporty and awesome. I am also having trouble figuring out how to make the blue fabric glow...if you have any ideas at all for that, please contact me. I really wish that it hadn't faded. It looked really cool, believe me. My mother told me that if everyone wrote down what they loved when they were three, you would know what you wanted to be as a grown-up. I loved sports and drawing, so here I am. Anyway, I really hope you like this dress. I worked super hard on it. If you have any questions about it (or anything) I have an email at yannsburydesigns@gmail.com. Also, my relatives from Oregon are arriving tomorrow! So exciting, and I can not wait. It will not be all of them, unfortunately, but there are three of them and I love them so much! I can not wait for them to get here. Anyway, you guys know the Facebook and Twitter pages (Yannsbury Designs, @yannsburydesign). Sionara!

Inspirations: Best Friends

Hey guys!!! I just got back from a cross-country meet, but I'm actually got a cold, so I did not run...But it's okay because my best friend ran, and she got second place, which is super good! Anyway, the design that I told you guys about last week; it's not entirely what I usually make, but it is kind of inspired by my best friend Tiffany. Okay, the first thing you might think of with the name Tiffany is probably really frou-frou, blonde hair blue eyes kind of thing, but that is not my best friend. She is the coolest, most athletic girl I've ever met; and so she is my inspiration for today! She is not the most fashion-forward person, but she loves technology and athletics, so I wanted to make a mix of the two for her. So the first thing about the dress is that it's got a power button symbol right on the chest. Ha ha, yes, I know, "A power button, Cleo? Those belong on computers, you silly little girl!" Yeah, I know, but believe me, it's going to look really cool if I can find a fabric that looks like it's glowing. Sorry!! I know I'm being suspenseful, but I want everyone to keep reading! Also, about Project Runway, I'm so sad that Alicia Hardesty was eliminated!! She did not deserve it; just because Elena and Dimitry were battling and she was caught in the middle; that does not mean that she was that bad. The other two on the team kind of threw her under the bus, so to speak. On the other hand, I really did like Gunnar's items, especially in the way that he color-blocked the skirt that he made. I don't think that he should have described Sonjia's dress as Legend of Zelda-esque; I really liked her colors and I am really glad that she won, especially with that green jacket. That was just so cute; I would totally wear that. Girl power! Anyway, I hope that you'll keep me in mind next Tuesday and thanks for reading!

Review: School

So, today was my first day of school, and as it was not too inspirational, nor did it invoke a design, I'm just going to post it under reviews. So, today was my first day of high school - freshman orientation- supposedly a rite of passage. It was...interesting....I guess. I got to see my friends, and they all looked nice; obviously they did, it's the first day of school! So, anyway, I saw this really cute top on one of my friends that I just thought was totally awesome. It was green sheer with black polka dots, and a black peter pan collar. It had loose three-quarter sleeves with cut-outs from mid-arm to the shoulder. It was really cute. Also, we had these awesome jugglers who came it, and one of them was (I think?) a contortionist. But they were juggling these really sharp swords and, like, eight juggling pins at once. It was pretty cool. I was really inspired by it, and I'm going to be posting a designed based on the costumes that they described to us, because they weren't wearing them at that moment. Anyway, that was my great first day of school. So, I'm including this, a picture of our beautiful school. We don't have to wear uniforms, thank god! I used to go to a school where we wore uniforms, and it was awful. Uniforms made getting up in the morning easier, though. :) Anyway, I will see you guys on Friday, thanks for reading!!!

Review: Oh My Lord and Taylor

Hey everybody! First of all, I am so sorry that I did not update yesterday! My cross-country meet went surprisingly late, so I had to update today. So, did anyone watch the most recent episode of Project Runway the other night? If you haven't, it was the Oh My Lord and Taylor challenge, in which the contestants had to design a cocktail dress for Lord and Taylor's Project Runway Collection ( http://www.lordandtaylor.com/eng/CMS/PRDress_Dress.cfm). I loved Christopher Palu's dress, but I agree with the judges on the fact that the shredding technique isn't anything new from Chris. I think that he could have tried a little harder to make something different from what he had made in the former challenges. Melissa Fleis' dress was my personal favorite, but I agreed with Michael Kors in the fact that her asymmetrical hemline was a little too much. I loved her fabric and the 'boat neck' that was not actually a boat neck but a strapless. I am posting a picture down below of her cocktail dress. I really did not like Gunnar Deatharage's dress; it is just way too much sparkle and lace. It was just too gaudy to be a little black dress – I really think that Gunnar should have been cut. He was going to be out but it didn't happen, and I really didn't like how the judges actually liked it. That thing was hideous! Sparkles and lace? Really, Gunnar? I really think that Gunnar can do better than that and trying to mix two of his favorite dresses in the collection together just equaled something that was not good. If Andrea Katz had still been in, she would most definitely be eliminated on this challenge, considering her designs. Kooan, although he is totally awesome (see my tribute to Kooan here http://yannsbury.blogspot.com/2012/08/inspirations-kooan.html) he would have probably failed at this challenge as well. So, just keep in mind that you should watch Project Runway, as it really is great reality show (http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway/video/full-episodes).
