Review: Oh My Lord and Taylor

Hey everybody! First of all, I am so sorry that I did not update yesterday! My cross-country meet went surprisingly late, so I had to update today. So, did anyone watch the most recent episode of Project Runway the other night? If you haven't, it was the Oh My Lord and Taylor challenge, in which the contestants had to design a cocktail dress for Lord and Taylor's Project Runway Collection ( http://www.lordandtaylor.com/eng/CMS/PRDress_Dress.cfm). I loved Christopher Palu's dress, but I agree with the judges on the fact that the shredding technique isn't anything new from Chris. I think that he could have tried a little harder to make something different from what he had made in the former challenges. Melissa Fleis' dress was my personal favorite, but I agreed with Michael Kors in the fact that her asymmetrical hemline was a little too much. I loved her fabric and the 'boat neck' that was not actually a boat neck but a strapless. I am posting a picture down below of her cocktail dress. I really did not like Gunnar Deatharage's dress; it is just way too much sparkle and lace. It was just too gaudy to be a little black dress – I really think that Gunnar should have been cut. He was going to be out but it didn't happen, and I really didn't like how the judges actually liked it. That thing was hideous! Sparkles and lace? Really, Gunnar? I really think that Gunnar can do better than that and trying to mix two of his favorite dresses in the collection together just equaled something that was not good. If Andrea Katz had still been in, she would most definitely be eliminated on this challenge, considering her designs. Kooan, although he is totally awesome (see my tribute to Kooan here http://yannsbury.blogspot.com/2012/08/inspirations-kooan.html) he would have probably failed at this challenge as well. So, just keep in mind that you should watch Project Runway, as it really is great reality show (http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway/video/full-episodes).
